Exterior pressure washing service

EXTERIOR SURFACES

Exterior surfaces, thoughtfully cleaned.

Cleaning options for suitable exterior walls and boundaries, with particular care around render, paint, brickwork, mortar and vulnerable finishes.

Exterior

A FRESHER FINISH

Considered care for walls and boundaries.

Walls, boundary features and other vertical exteriors can collect pollution, algae and weathering. But these surfaces can be delicate: damaged render, old mortar, paint and cladding all need particular care.

Instead of assuming a high-pressure wash is suitable, we assess the finish and discuss low-pressure or specialist alternatives where relevant. Some surfaces should not be washed at all without further advice.

WHAT WE CAN ASSESS

Common areas and surfaces.

Suitable work, subject to inspection

  • Selected brick and masonry hard surfaces
  • Suitable boundary walls and hard landscaping
  • Other external surfaces following individual assessment

Things worth knowing

  • Painted render, soft masonry and older pointing can be damaged by pressure.
  • Cleaning cannot repair cracks, failed coatings or water ingress.
  • Additional access or specialist methods may be needed for upper levels.

BEFORE WE QUOTE

A useful quote starts with a few details.

Tell us approximately how large the area is, what it is made of, how it is accessed and whether there are stains, loose joints or existing coatings. Photographs can be arranged separately if needed.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about this service.

Can you pressure wash rendered walls?

High-pressure washing is often inappropriate for render; a specialist low-pressure approach may be needed.

Do you clean high walls?

Working height and safe access must be reviewed before confirming suitability.

Will cleaning remove damp stains?

Surface cleaning does not resolve the underlying cause of damp or water ingress.

WALLS, BOUNDARIES & FACADES

Exterior surfaces call for a different kind of cleaning judgement

Render, brick, painted masonry and cladding do not have the same tolerance for water pressure. A stained wall may also indicate a moisture or maintenance issue rather than simply dirt. The condition of the finish should determine whether cleaning is appropriate at all.

Rendered and painted walls

Coatings can be damaged or lifted by forceful water jets. A low-pressure or other compatible approach may be more appropriate, subject to the coating system and existing condition. Cracking, flaking paint and water ingress require attention before cleaning.

Brickwork and mortar joints

Older bricks and soft mortar can lose their surface under aggressive pressure. Efflorescence, rising moisture and ingrained stains are different from surface grime and may not be removable through ordinary washing.

Boundary walls and exterior details

Copings, fencing interfaces, vents, electrical fittings and neighbouring properties influence the safe working area. Water should not be directed indiscriminately into openings, damaged joints or sensitive fixtures.

PREPARATION & AFTERCARE

What is included in an exterior assessment?

Share the wall type, approximate height, photographs of the affected sections and details of any existing coating or sealer. The height and access requirements may make specialist equipment or a different contractor necessary.

We distinguish between loose dirt, organic staining and underlying surface damage. If the finish is fragile, an alternative method or no cleaning may be the sensible recommendation.

Cleaning improves suitable surfaces; it does not repair structural faults, damp penetration or deteriorated render. Those issues should be assessed by a relevant specialist before external cleaning is considered.

SERVICE QUESTIONS

Two more things worth knowing

Can painted render be pressure washed?

It may be unsuitable, especially if the coating is loose or the render has cracks. Manufacturer guidance and condition should be considered before choosing any treatment.

Will cleaning stop green staining returning?

No permanent prevention can be promised. Shade, moisture, nearby vegetation and the condition of the surface all affect future growth.
